ISSECO® - International Secure Software Engineering Council

Secure software engineering has become an increasingly important part of software quality, particularly due to the development of the Internet. While IT security measures can offer basic protection for the main areas of your IT systems, secure software is also critical for establishing a completely secure business environment. Every single software developer must care about security, because your customers need to be able to trust your software.

ISSECO, the International Secure Software Engineering Council, was established to standardize the education and certification of skills for secure software development. These skills cover everything that is needed to produce secure software, throughout the entire development cycle. It includes requirements engineering, trust & threat modelling, secure coding, security testing, and security response to code protection.

ISSECO guarantees an up-to-date syllabus and exam questionnaires; we also offer accreditation for qualified education partners. The examination and certification process is performed by iSQI on behalf of ISSECO.

ISSECO is a German "Verein", a not-for-profit organization. Our members are renowned software security experts.

ISSECO is supported by a number of organizations that share a common interest in enhancing the level of security qualification in the software industry.

Launch of the International Secure Systems Development Conference (ISSD) Westminster Conference Centre, London, 20th & 21st May 2010

The International Secure Systems Development Confernce will be held at the Westminster Conference Centre, London from 20th to 21st May 2010. The theme is developing new applications securely and adding security to legacy applications - both standard and web-based. Addressing the issue that many experts are realising that the vast majority of today's vulnerabilities can be tracked back to shortcomings in application coding, and repeated design failures whereby business-critical applications are simply not able to function as part of today's pervasive security and authentication architectures.
